Hp Dv6t Select Edition Review

Jun 23, 2011  The HP Pavilion dv7t Quad Edition's powerful Core i7 processor and optional solid state drive beef up an already great multimedia experience. The HP Pavilion dv6t-6000 falls right into this category like a square peg into its inevitable hole. This 15.6-incher is a highly configurable model at the heart of HP's mainstream laptop line.

Today I will be reviewing the HP ENVY dv6t-7300 Select Edition Notebook PC. I recently bought it straight from the HP website for $679 including shipping.

This laptop is very customizable, which comes in handy to someone who likes things tuned to their personal wants and needs, but it is also a great laptop without any extras added on. For my personal laptop I customized it with the 3rd gen intel core i5 processor, a Blu-ray player&SuperMulti DVD burner, and a backlit keyboard. One of my first reactions when I opened the box, which did actually arrive a day ahead of schedule which was nice, was that this notebook is a lot nicer than I had expected.

Now obviously I knew I wasn’t cheaping out on anything, but it did really surprise me. The brushed metal aluminum casing is very sturdy and does look very good as well.

The initial boot up took a little bit of time, but nothing too bad, and the setup was very easy. The 1366×768 resolution of the screen is very nice, it has fairly good color saturation but I have heard that the 1920×1080 screen, which is 1080p HD, is well worth it however if you don’t want to shell out another $150 the standard screen will be just fine for you. I have not had a chance to use the Blu-ray player yet, but I would imagine that I will not be let down. Canon Printer Drivers Pixma Mp 800 Error Code 5100 here. Hp Rgs Desktop Trial Edition Of Photoshop. Let’s talk about performance. This laptop is absolutely fantastic when it comes to CPU performance. I have had it over a month now and not once has it lagged even the slightest bit.

I do not do anything that is too strenuous on the performance, but while streaming videos or playing Civilization 5 it is all seamless and I have no complaints whatsoever. The standard processor is the 2nd gen intel core i5 but I did upgrade to the 3rd gen. It is not going to make a huge difference but for $20 I figured it wouldn’t hurt and I didn’t break the bank doing it.

It also comes with 8GB DDR3 memory standard, which is more than enough for the average everyday user. One thing I really love about this laptop is the fingerprint scanner that comes standard with it. It is very small, and what it allows you to do is go from having the laptop closed, to opening it and being logged in and on the internet in under 10 seconds which is very nice if you need to move around the house or anything where you would need to shut it. Another thing that made me like it that much more is that it is very reliable. Eyal Press Beautiful Souls Pdf Printer. It will work with your finger(s) and yours alone, it is very high quality.

The fingerprint scanner also allows you to program different website accounts such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Onto the computer and access them with the swipe of a finger.

One thing that I have noticed is that while I play Civilization 5 the fan does get a tad loud from the extra work I am making the laptop do, but if you are in a room with a little background noise you wont even notice it. While unplugged, if the computer is going through heavy performance such as gaming, you can expect about 2 hours of battery life before you need to plug it in, but for internet browsing and other things that don’t require too much work, you can expect anywhere from 4-6 hours or more.

Another great feature is the Beats audio that comes standard. Now obviously an absolutely wonderful sound from any laptop, but with the Beats custom equalizer, which is very easy to use, you can make it sound just the way you want and it will sound very good. Moving on to the physical appearance and feel of the laptop, you immediately see how good the black brushed aluminum casing looks and feels. Black is the only color that this laptop is available in, but it looks fantastic. The casing along the back of the screen is very sturdy which takes away the worry for any accidental bending of the screen. The keyboard is very nice, the keys are not cheap or flimsy, and if you do get the backlit keyboard, which I recommend, it makes it look that much better and also allows you to use it with ease in the dark.
